What Are You Thankful for?

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because I get to spend time with my family. I'm a busy person so when holidays come around I get excited. Most businesses are closed and people travel from distant locations to be with their love ones. As I reflect on Thanksgiving I am reminded of how thankful I am. It's a blessing to have people in my life that genuinely care about me..

This week I had a not so good day at work. Some of my colleagues could tell I was upset and even when I tried to act like what happen didn't bother me, it did.I called my husband and he immediately made me feel so much better. Which is one of the reasons I am so thankful for him. In life it's nice to have someone who you can call when you are upset. Someone who talking to them seem to make everything better. It doesn't matter what time of the day, they are there, no matter what. After I got off the phone with him my colleagues expressed to me how they sympathized with me about the situation. They were ready to argue, fight, and stand up for me willingly and it made me feel special inside. I told them it's okay I will handle the situation but I appreciated them for wanting to stick up for me.

I don't believe in violence and I truly believe you can solve problems with your words. I guess thats the free spirit side of me. As I have gotten older, I realized how important it is to have genuine people around you that truly care, love, and support you, Though I have this blog and share a lot of my life with my subscribers, in person I am a private person. I don't tell people too much about me. I have to get to know you before I express my feelings because there are people that don't always have your best interest. Since I use to not be so good at picking friends, this is one thing I do as a protection to myself.

I also learned that you can't always expect people to treat you like you treat them. People are going to fail us and disappoint us but when you have people that are always there for you when you need a shoulder to cry on or need someone to vent to, be thankful for them. So as I think about what I am thankful for I can truly say I am thankful for people who are always there for me. Thats what the world truly needs. There's so many people hurting in the world and they don't have anyone to talk to. So when you have someone in your life whos there for you, even if it's only one person, that's better than none.

So as you go about your day, if you have people in your life that are truly there for you, who love, and care for you, appreciate them. Let them know today how much you love and appreciate them. Life is short and if you don't learn to count your blessings, one day they will be gone.

"Give thanks not just on Thanksgiving Day but everyday of your life Appreciate and never take for granted all that you have."-Catherine Pulsifer
