Take care of your energy

This month is all about developing yourself. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to focus on myself more. I need to revamp my mind, body, and soul. That’s what the mission is for inspiring Woman. Inspiring women and young girls to take care of their mind, body, and soul. I also must remember to do the same. Sometimes I allow people to get to me and I don’t even realize it to afterward. I have some negative people at my job and it’s kind of hard to avoid them. I try to ignore their negativity and tune them out while they are talking but sometimes after our conversation, I still leave with some of their bad energy.

My husband tells me I’m too nice because he said he would have just walked away from them. Me I’m trying to figure out how to be a helper but not allow others energy to rub off on me. I’m a very optimistic person and I don’t get upset with people because I usually just accept people for who they are. As Maya Angelou would say if people show you who they are believe them. This quote resonates with me because when someone is constantly behaving the same way you now know their character so why expect anything differently. There’s no point in getting your emotions all involved over someone who has repeatedly treated you the same way. Why believe they will stop now.

Part of being a life coach means you must deal with bad energy because when people are down it’s easier for them to be negative. Everything in life sucks for them now and they don’t know how to turn it into a positive. Trust me I been there and being positive is easily said than done. Since I have grown and matured, I realized that my attitude about the situation doesn’t change the situation so why have a negative attitude about it. I might as well be chipper then frown. At least my mood is right during the ordeal.

So, what is energy and why is it important. According to Wikipedia “energy is the quantitative property that must be transferred to an object in order to perform work on, or to heat, the object. Energy is a conserved quantity; the law of conservation of energy states that energy can be converted in form, but not created or destroyed. “Energy in retrospect is something that you exert. It can be transferred from one object to another.

If you are around someone negative all the time, then you will eventually become a negative person. Studies says that the five people you hang around the most are the people that are you alike. So not only do you have to be careful who you talk to, but you also must be careful who you spend your time with.

When I decided I wanted to be happier and better myself in life. I had to distant myself from energy that was causing me to feel like crap. That’s why some people often are told they forget where they come from or they changed. It isn’t that you changed, or you forgot where you came from. It’s that you didn’t want to suffer anymore and that you decided that your wellbeing mattered more than anything else. When I decided to take care of my energy, I felt a whole lot better. When you are around negativity, complaining, and unhappy people it controls your wellbeing. I used to feel bad for feeling good because the people I was hanging out with felt bad all the time. So, when something good happened in my life I was afraid to tell them because everything was going wrong in their life. So, I had to celebrate in silence to avoid hurting their feelings.

Energy is important because it’s something you carry around with you every day. It’s a feeling. Your vibe. The good vibes only aren’t just a motto it’s a way of life. I know that things going on in the world may affect your energy but some things we just can’t control. What you can control is how you feel. I’m not asking you to be nonchalant. I’m asking you to understand that you’re wellbeing is important and what you allow to affect it is also important. Don’t let anyone be in control of your energy. Remember energy is transferable so if you put out good energy then it will come back to you. It’s the law of attraction. If you’re always negative, then you will receive more negativity in your life. If you’re always have positive, then you will receive positivity.

People are not just blessed they do good and the world treats them good. I know it’s hard but is it really hard being positive? If it’s hard being positive, why does it take more muscles to frown then it does to smile. I’m not saying when something bad happens in your life you don’t have to be sad. It’s okay to express your emotions. We are filled with emotions. It’s good to express ourselves and get it out. I’m speaking in reference to your whole outlook on life. Be optimistic. Have good energy. Don’t be affected by other people problems. Love yourself. Because if you love yourself then you wouldn’t allow no one to have control over how you choose to feel on a day to day basic. Once I realized that I was in control that’s when I started living.

So remember today to protect your energy. Don’t allow negativity to steal your joy and your happiness. You’ll feels so much better when you become more optimistic than pessimistic.

Choose to focus your time, energy and conversation around people who inspire you, support you and help you to grow you into your happiest, strongest, wisest self.
