“The keys to patience are acceptance and faith. Accept things as they are and look realistically at the world around you. Have faith in yourself and in the direction you have chosen.”-Ralph Marston
Being patient is something most people struggle with. As they work on their goals, they tend to get fidgety when it takes a long time to achieve them. For instance, when people decide to lose weight, they start making changes in their diet, work out regularly, and after a few months of seeing no results they give up. When our body gains weight it happens over the course of time sometimes months and years and before we know it our pants don’t fit like they used to. So why is it people think they can lose weight in less than the time it took to gain the weight?
I understand we all get frustrated when we are trying to make changes in our lives, but we must develop realistic expectations. We can’t expect to work out for a few months and expect our body to just drop the weight, but it would be nice if it did, but it doesn’t work like that. Everything in life requires patience. No one wakes up a billionaire unless they win the lottery or inherit money from a relative. Everything is a process. When you keep being consistent working toward your goals that’s when you will start seeing results.
Don’t focus on the results because when you do this you won’t be able to focus on the goal. If you research your favorite athlete or celebrity or whoever you believe may be doing well in life, then you will notice a pattern. They started with nothing and ended up with something, but they had to develop patience during the process. Trust me I know it gets hard trying to be patient but if you really want something then you must be willing to wait. I promise you it would be worth the wait.
I think the problem with most people patience is that they are trying to keep up with everyone else, but you can’t focus on what everyone else is doing because that’s when you get off track. Everyone must move at their own pace and though we might be watching someone looking from the outside in we don’t know what they might be struggling with themselves. Just because it looks like they got it easy they might be feeling like they want to give up as well. So be patient and focus on your goals and the results will come.
So, remember today you must develop some patience while you’re working on your goals. Life is happening around us every day and if we’re constantly anxious about the future we won’t be able to enjoy the present. Whatever goals you have and whatever you are trying to improve in your life will happen. So, learn to enjoy the process while you wait on the results.
“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
