Roy T. Bennett once said, “The more you feed your mind with positive thoughts, the more you can attract great things into your life.” I do believe this to be true because I have experienced some amazing things in life just by changing my mindset. There are so many negative things in the world and it’s easy to get caught up in negative thinking. Trust me I have been influenced many times by negativity. It’s part of being human. We cannot be perfect all the time no matter who we are, life can sometimes be challenging. We just must make sure to learn how to get out of that dark place when life tries to take us there.
I have found that the people I spend the most time around can affect my attitude about life. I can be in a jolly mood and then someone comes around with their negative thoughts and then I start to feel sad suddenly. It starts to follow me all day and before I know it, I feel glum. I had to learn to recognize when someone else’s feelings had rubbed off on me so that it won’t ruin how I was feeling. Have you ever felt happy then suddenly sad, but you don’t know why? Chances are someone you encountered transferred their negative energy to you.
I used to think my mom was crazy when she told us this, but people can spread their bad vibes to us if we allow it. We can’t go through life avoiding everyone, but we must figure out how to deal with our emotions once we have encountered an unhappy person. People don’t do these things on purpose and most of them don’t even realize they are spreading negativity. It comes natural to them, so they don’t even recognize their bad habits, it’s innate.
Mindset is key to a healthy life and you’re not going to always have great days but if you train your mind to look at the situation differently then you will be able to conquer anything. Like the famous quote “Your body can do anything. It’s your mind you have to convince.”
